Hiking to Oregon's Watson Falls

πŸ“ 43.245617,-122.391464
If you're looking for a Sunday afternoon outing Watson Falls is a great idea.Watson Creek plunges 293 feet over the edge of a basalt lava flow which makes it the talls in southwest Oregon. The trail is only .3 miles to the wooden bridge and probably another .3 to the upper view point. I am estimating the trail climbs 300 to 350 feet from parking to the upper viewpoint. To find Watson Falls go to milepost 60.5 on Hwy 138. Turn south on Road 37. There is space to park several cars and you will find a vault style outhouse almost immiedately on the right. Or you may follow this GoogleMap.

however the trees have grown up and are blocking the lower part of the Falls.
Even though Watson Creek is very small here it is still quite scenic.

More of the trail to Watson Falls in Oregon.
Many people turn back at the bridge but if you choose to continue on the foot of the falls this is what the trail looks like.

This is the best view I found of Watson Falls. Even though the water flow is quite low it was still a beautiful sight.
We visited Watson Falls on September 8, 2019. I have seen several pictures of the view of Watson Falls from the bridge or just below it that enjoyed a much clearer view of the falls than we found. I wonder if they cut back the trees to give a better view and they had grown up over the summer. If you know the answer to this question please send me an email to icrcomment@gmail.com. We enjoyed our visit to Watson Falls but to get the best view I would come earlier in the year so there would be more water coming over the falls.
