Campsites
With 95 full hook up sites, 55 electric sites with water, 7 tent sites and 8 yurts the park is a busy place during the summer months. The roads and driveways are all paved. Each campsite comes with a picnic table and fire pit.

Restroom
The restsooms offer flushing toilet, lavs and showers.
Electricity
Yes most campsites have electricity available.
Firewood
Firewood is available for purchase at the camp host sites.
Pets
Pets are welcome and there are areas to let them off leash.
Picnic Area
There is a group picnic site however I didn't see a rate or a way to reserve it through the website so call this number (800-452-5687) for more information.
Handicap Access
There are 2 handicap accessible campsites and the campground is more handicap friendly than most.
RV Dump Site
There is a RV dumping station in the park.
Host On-Site
You will find multiple camp hosts if you need help.
Nearest Shower
There are hot showers available in each restroom for campers.
Nearest Laundry
I found Steamboat Coin Laundry on google in Gold Hill and Rogue River Laundry in the City of Rogue River.
Garbage Services
There are garbage cans scattered about the park.
Fishing
With 3 miles of Rogue River access you have a good chance to catch trout, steelhead and salmon. I believe there are also bass but I have never caught one in the river.
Boating
There is a boat launch just outside the campground by the "rest area".
Swimming
There is access to the river but you will swim at your own risk. I didn't find a "swimming" spot.
Hiking
The park has 4 miles of trails to hike along the river and through the park.
Recreation
The primary recreation available at the park besides camping is fishing and hiking. I did find a horseshoe pit. One could use the park as a home base and travel to many other nearby recreational sites.
Wildlife
You are likely to see deer and small woodland animals like squirrels and birds but nothing else.

Valley of the Rogue State Park

The Valley of the Rogue State Park is sandwiched between Interstate 5 and the Rogue River in SW Oregon. It sits on mostly level land and offers easy access from the freeway. The park offers 3 miles of river frontage and 4 miles of hiking trails. There are many mature trees to provide shade which I would certainly enjoy on a hot summer day. In fact, I would more likely be playing or fishing in the river on that hot summer day. This is not my kind of camping but if I was passing through the area I can see staying overnight. Or if the salmon were running it would make a good base camp. Don't take this wrong, it is a nice park with great amenities but I would have a hard time accepting the freeway being so close.
