South Fork of the Boise River
This review covers an area below Anderson Ranch Dam and outlines the camping opportunities along the South Fork of the Boise River. The river is flowing through a deep valley here with forest in the shaded areas and sagebrush everywhere else. Away from the river this is a dry place during the summer. Watch for snakes as rattlesnakes live here. However, you are far more likely to see a bull snake.

Recreation

Fishing
The South Fork of the Boise River is a trophy rainbow trout stream. Whitefish are also caught here. Check the regulation as special regulations are enforced here.
Boating
Drift boats are very popular and there are several river access points. Tailwaters has a boat ramp while 121i and 121o have gravel access points. I didn't drive all the way to Danskin but there is a river access point there also.
Swimming
Could and do people swim here? Sure, but fishing is the draw to this area.
Recreation
Trophy trout fishing is the main attraction here but some do go four-wheeling, hiking, or just camping. There are some beautiful vistas for a photographer as well.

Deer are common, bear do live here as well as snakes and birds.
