Fishing
Fishing is available in the South Fork and Palisades Reservoir for various trout and a few other species. Check the regulation for limits and restrictions.
Boating
There is a boat launch just below the dam for access to the river and another at both Calamity Campground and Blowout Campground on the reservoir.
Swimming
I would not recommend swimming in the river as it flows fast and deep.
Recreation
Camping and fishing are the main recreational activities here. In the nearby mountains, there are trails to hike, bike and ride, wildlife to view and photograph, as well as a reservoir to ski on.
Wildlife
Deer, moose, osprey and eagles would be the most common other than small forest animals.
