Recreation
This is a very rocky, dry area so I would imagine rock hounds might enjoy looking for rocks. You could ride your ATVs, bikes, or horses in the hills around here. I would enjoy photographing the rock formations. I am sure hunters would find game nearby.

Mosquitoes! Ha! We saw nothing except birds, however, I would expect to see deer here regularly.

Morgan Creek Recreation Site is on Morgan Creek, due north of Challis, Idaho. The campground is on Morgan Creek where the flat land along the creek is covered with willows. The hills around are covered with sage brush, and the higher mountains are heavily forested. The summer days could be hot with no shade and the mosquitoes are thick and very hungry. Morgan Creek Road before Morgan Creek Recreation Site followed the creek and was deep in a rocky canyon. West Fork Road also follows a deep rocky canyon. I imagine this would be excellent hunting country.

Getting There
From Challis, Idaho, take Hwy 93 north 8.2 miles to a left turn onto Morgan Creek Road. Follow Morgan Creek Road 5.1 miles northwest to Morgan Creek Recreation Site which will be on your left.
