Meadow Creek Campground
Meadow Creek Campground is located in the Kaniksu National Forest (or Idaho Panhandle National Forest). The area is heavily forested except for a logged area on the road into the campground. The campground itself is wooded and situated along the Moyie River. The road into the campground is gravel as are the driveways. Posted quiet time is 10pm to 6am. If you like primitive camping, we saw several locations along the Moyie River Rd down by the riverside, north of the campground.

Amenities

Campsites
There are 22 sites to be used for either RV camping or tent camping. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring and tent square. The camp host is next to the picnic area along the river. The sites along the river have their driveway parking with a short path to their table, fire ring and tent square. In the other sites, the parking and table areas are closer together and are hidden under a natural awning of trees.
Water
There is water available and it is good.
Restroom
Vault style outhouses that were very clean.
Pets
On a leash only.
Handicap Access
Yes
RV Dump Site
No.
Phone Service
No pay phone but we had some spotty cell service.
Garbage Services
No garbage service available as of June 2010, pack it out.

Recreation

Fishing
Fishing is in the Moyie River where a fisherman would find various species of trout. Dawson Lake is on Meadow Creek Rd about 10 miles away.
Boating
No boating opportunities.
Recreation
Fishing in Moyie River is certainly an attraction. I would come here to camp due to the setting. I love both the camping sites along the river and the sites nestled in the woods below the hill.
Wildlife
As always, a deer might wander through camp. This is bear country so be careful with your food and garbage.

Getting There

We took the Moyie River Rd from the campground south to Hwy 2 then right over to Hwy 95 and south to Bonners Ferry. The roads were in fine condition. Google Maps directs you from Bonners Ferry north on Hwy 95 about 3 miles to turn right onto Hwy 2 . Travel 2 miles on Hwy 2 to turn left onto Meadow Creek Rd. You will stay on Meadow Creek Rd between 10 and 11 miles to the Moyie River Rd where you will want to turn right and travel about .3 miles to the campground road on the left. I like this idea as it takes you past Dawson Lake where you may want to fish.
