Many people brought their pets. Some were on a leash while others were not.

One could picnic anywhere around the lake as there are no camping fees.

There is an RV dumping station off Hwy 93 on West E Street in a small park on the south end of Shoshone, Idaho, which is south of Magic Reservoir about 20 miles.

Bass, crappie, perch, and blue gill.

We didn't see anyone water skiing, but there are many fishing boats.

It is hot and dry here during the summer with very few trees. I would swim in any water available!
Recreation
Fishing, fishing and more fishing, Oh, there is also birding for the avid bird watcher.
Wildlife
We saw several owls and coyote and deer tracks along the lake. There were many other birds.

Lava Point Access is a fisherman's paradise, or at least it is if that fisherman wants to fish for bass and other warm water fish. The Point is surrounded by water with great access. One can fish from the bank, float tube, raft, or boat. Magic Reservoir has many miles of shoreline offering great bass habitat. However, bring the RV with air-conditioning for your nonfishing party members because it is hot and dry sitting there in the sun.

Getting There
From Twin Falls, Idaho, travel north on Hwy 93 to Shoshone, Idaho, where Hwy 93 turns to the NE. You will continue north on Hwy 75 for another 18.3 miles to Cottonwood Road. From there, follow the map.
