β All Campgrounds
Campsites
There are 14 tent / RV camping sites in Inlet Campground which are set in a natural style. You won't see a weed eater trimming the grass on these grounds. Each site comes with the normal picnic table and fire ring, and most are long enough for your RV. The road and driveways are gravel, but the road to the campground is paved. The campground is forested with quite a bit of undergrowth.
Water
There is a well with a hand pump. Even though the water is tested "Ok" for drinking, it tastes horrible!
Restroom
Vault style outhouses, one newer and one older. Both were maintained and clean.
Firewood
There is firewood available at the camp host for $6.00.
Pets
Pets on a leash, no horses or draft animals in the campground.
Picnic Area
There is a very nice picnic area at the observation point between Stanley Lake Campground and Lakeview Campground.
Handicap Access
The outhouses are handicap accessible but I would not say this is a handicap accessible campground. The roads and paths are rough for a wheelchair. In fact, the trail is smoother.
RV Dump Site
No, however, there is one at the Redfish Lake support station.
Host On-Site
In 2010, the host and hostess were Stan and Eleanor.
Phone Service
There is no pay phone at the Inlet Campground or the other two campgrounds at Stanley Lake. Both pay phone and cell reception is available at Stanley, Idaho.
Garbage Services
Yes, there is garbage service available in bearwise dumpsters.
Fishing
Fishing in Stanley lake , Stanley Lake Creek, and throughout this area is primarily for trout; brook, rainbow, cutthroat and bull trout. Check your regulation! Bull trout are protected!!
Boating
The boat access is at Inlet Campground for Stanley Lake. There is a dock and boat ramp.
Swimming
There is a beautiful beach where Stanley Lake Creek empties into the lake. Check out my picture.
Recreation
There is fishing, boating, water skiing, canoeing, hiking, backpacking, trail riding, bird watching, swimming or just sunbathing on the beach. Check out the trails nearby. We found a wonderful map of the trails in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area at the Visitors Center at Redfish Lake, or you may call 208-727-5000 to order one. "Trails in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area - Idaho"
Wildlife
Deer, elk, moose, bear, mountain lion, all kinds of birds, mountain goat, and mountain sheep could all be seen in the surrounding area.

Inlet Campground on Stanley Lake is in one of the most beautiful settings in Idaho, the Sawtooth Mountains. The Stanley Lake Inlet campground is located on the west end of Stanley Lake where Stanley Lake Creek enters. There is a wetland above the lake with open water that is inhabited by brook trout. Inlet Campground is in the Sawtooth Nation Forest and is also part of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. This is a paradise for photographers, hikers, backpackers, horsemen, and fishermen.
