Hollywood Point Campground
Due to the Tussock moth infestation and resulting logging Hollywood Point Campground is not the same. Only campsite 4 remains as a reminder of days gone by. Campsites 2 and 6 sit in full sun with stumps, down logs and burnt patches surrounding them. The good news is that time heals all. I am leaving the original description below but checkout the campsite pictures to see what it looks like now. I visited Hollywood Point on a Wednesday in early August 2021 and the campground was empty. It was the first time I have found it unoccupied.

I love this area for camping although we have only stayed in Hollywood Point Campground once. A lot of fond memories were made while camping along Sagehen Reservoir in the various campgrounds. Hollywood Point Campground is heavily wooded with pine trees and is located along the shoreline of Sagehen Reservoir. In late summer, you can enjoy huckleberry picking nearby. This area is very popular in the summer. The sites in this campground are first come first serve basis. If you get there and the sites are in use, you can usually find a place to camp in the area. There are several campgrounds along the shore, Antelope Campground and Sagehen Campground. Cartwright Campground is across the way on a small hill with the Antelope Loop nearby, as well as many off-road areas if you are self-contained. ATV's are used a lot in the area, but not in the campgrounds. Temperatures run between 80? and 90? in the summer.

Amenities

Campsites
Hollywood Point Campground has 6 paved RV camping sites. The sites are irregular and nestled among trees with most of them having plenty of privacy. The sites include a fire pit, standing barbecue grill, and a picnic table. There are places to put a tent or you can park an RV, max length 22 feet. There are no electric hookups.
Water
There is water in the campground. I wouldn't drink it although it is suppose to be safe for drinking.
Restroom
There are vault style toilets throughout the campground which are handicap accessible. They are maintained daily.
Electricity
There is no electricity at Hollywood point Campground.
Pets
are welcome on a leash.
Phone Service
There is not a telephone at Hollywood Point Campground. You can get cell reception in a couple small areas and then only if you hold your phone just right! You may have to drive around a bit to get it and it depends on your carrier as to whether you can get it at all.
Garbage Services
You must carry out your own garbage at Hollywood Point Campground.

Recreation

Fishing
There is great trout fishing at Sagehen Reservoir. There are trails along the shoreline which allow easy access for the fisherman. We have caught fish from both the shoreline and the boat. If you are up to a challenge, try the creek below the road!
Boating
There is a dock and boat ramp at Antelope Campground long the north shoreline of the Reservoir. Motorized boats are welcome, however there is a speed limit of 15, no wake.
Swimming
Families do swim along some of the shorelines. It can be very refreshing on those hot summer days. There is no life guard on duty.
Hiking
In addition to the fishermen trails, there are nature trails and various trails winding around the reservoir. Years ago we tried to hike around the lake. That was an experience! After several hours of blazing our way through some of the areas, we succeeded, although we were hot, tired and thirsty.
Wildlife
We have actually seen black bear in the Sagehen Reservoir area a couple times. They have never been aggressive, they just like getting into the garbage. We have also seen osprey, deer, and a lot of friendly squirrels, ground squirrels and chipmunks. The kids have enjoyed watching the tiny frogs as well as bigger frogs down by the water.
