Campsites
There are a total of 35 campsites. 1 thru 5 in group one, 6 thru 13 in group two and 14 thru 35 for individual camping. The roads and driveways are all gravel. Most sites offer some shade but there are several without any. Check out this Google Maps view of the campground.

Yes, by hand pump. The water is somewhat metallic.

There are three vault style outhouses, all were clean and well stocked.

You will need to provide your own firewood.
Pets
Pets are welcome, however they need to be kept on a leash.

There is no picnic area.
Handicap Access
The outhouses are handicap accessible.
RV Dump Site
No, I don't know of any RV dumping stations nearby. If you know of one, please email its location to "ICRroger@gmail.com".
Host On-Site
No, the host for Elks Flat Campground stays in Dog Creek Campground just a short drive to the south.
Phone Service
There is a pay phone along the road at the north end of the campground. As you pass the entrance heading north, watch for it on the right side of the road just before the bridge. I had no cell reception anywhere in this area.

Fishing
Fishing is primarily for trout but there are whitefish and in season, kokanee salmon. Check the regulations for seasons and limits.
Boating
No.
Swimming
Swimming is at your own risk only. The river was high and rapid but there are times when one might swim in it.
Recreation
In Elks Flat Campground the group sites have horseshoe pits, volleyball nets and tetherball poles. There are hiking paths which lead to other trails. Green Creek Trail #270 is only a mile away and Cross Cut Trail is also nearby. Fishing in the South Fork of the Boise River can be done from the campground, both up or down stream and Anderson Ranch Reservoir is not far away. Four wheeling is very popular here.
Wildlife
Deer, elk, black bear, wolves, squirrels, birds and other small animals inhabit the woods around the campground.

The fee schedule for 2017 was $20.00 for a double site, $10.00 for singles and Group One and Two are $100.00 per night.

The group sites may be reserved through recreation.gov. Each group site allows up to 100 people. Camping in the individual sites, number 14 thru 35, is available on a first come first serve basis.

Elks Flat Campground is located along the South Fork of the Boise River just north of Anderson Ranch Reservoir. The campground is on flat land and is mostly forested. There are two large group sites which may be reserved for your group's event. If you enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, four wheeling or photography, Elks Flat Campground is certainly worth checking out.
