The campsites, driveways and roads are dirt. The picnic tables and fire rings may be beat up as it doesn't seem that the forest service does much maintenance on the campground. Deer Flat Campground is lightly used except for fall hunting season.

There is a vault style outhouse available. It was a bit dirty and had no toilet paper at the time of our visit.

The sign indicates pets must be on a leash but if nobody is around it's up to you.

Deer, elk, crane, wolves and black bear live in this area. We found fresh deer tracks in the campground.

There is no fee to use this campground nor can it be reserved as of July of 2020..

Deer Flat Campground is located along the North Fork of Deer Creek which a very small creek. I am not sure if it dries up in the fall but at the time of our visit it would have been perfect for the kids to play in without us worrying about them being safe. The campground is mostly level and shaded with lodgepole pine and Douglas-Fir. You won't be able to get in here until sometime in June and the road could be quite muddy at that.
