A Guide to Camping at Chickahominy Recreation Site - Oregon

Amenities

Campsites
We found 39 marked campsites however those on the west side of the reservoir were occupied and I did not visit them. Each campsite had a picnic table and fire ring with 3 of them also having a sunshade. You can pick between the shoreline where they are a bit more primitive or the loops where there are at least graveled roads.
Water
There is potable water available in several locations.
Restroom
There are multiple vault style outhouses which were clean and stocked at the time of our visit.
Electricity
No
Firewood
There was nothing available at the time of our visit.
Pets
A sign indicated dogs were welcome but must be kept on a leash.
Picnic Area
If I remember correctly there were a couple picnic tables near the boat launch but I am not sure.
Handicap Access
We saw at least one campsite marked as handcap accessible but it had gravel driveway and site.
RV Dump Site
No
Host On-Site
There was not at the time of our visit but there was a site marked for the host.
Garbage Services
Yes there are garbage cans near the boat launch.

Recreation

Fishing
Trout are available and are stocked when conditions allow.
Boating
There is a very nice boat launch with a large parking area.
Swimming
No marked beach.
Recreation
Fishing is the main recreation here.
Wildlife
You might be lucky and see mule deer, pronghorn antelope, jack rabbit, coyote or ground squirrel plus several species of songbirds and water fowl.
