Big Springs Campground
Big Springs Campground is located near Big Springs which empties into Henry's Fork of the Salmon River, on fairly flat land. The area is covered by a mature forest with some undergrowth. Big Springs is an interesting site. The elevation here is approximately 6300 feet.

Amenities

Campsites
We recorded 15 campsites but now I am not sure whether it is 15 plus the group site or including the group site. The single sites each have a picnic table, fire pit with attached grate and a camp stove stand. The road and driveways are paved. The group site also has sand filled tent squares the other sites do not.
Water
Yes, there is a nice pressurized water system.
Restroom
There are 2 vault style outhouses and a 3rd at the springs parking area. All were clean and stocked at the time of our visit.

There is firewood available from the camp host for $6.00 per bundle.
Pets
Pets are allowed but must be on a leash. Horses and draft animals are not allowed.
Picnic Area
Yes, there is a picnic area in the campground near Big Springs.
Handicap Access
The outhouses are handicap accessible and the picnic area to Big Springs area have paved paths.
RV Dump Site
There is an RV dump station at Henry's Lake State Park.

Pay phones are available at store and resorts along the highway but not in the campground. Our ATT cell service was spotty.

Fishing
Trout fishing is available in the streams, rivers and lakes nearby but check the regulations for closures and limits. Big Springs is closed to fishing.
Boating
Island Lake is available for boating and there is floating and kayaking on the rivers.
Swimming
There is no swimming available at the campground.
Recreation
Recreational activities nearby include camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, photography, wildlife watching, birding, four-wheeling and sight-seeing.
Wildlife
Wildlife in this area include deer, elf, moose, black bear, grizzly bear, wolves, many smaller forest animals and birds. Food and garbage storage restriction exist and grizzly bears live in this area.

Fee Schedule
Singles are $15 as of April 2017, doubles $30 and the group site is $100 per day.

The group site may be reserved at recreation.gov. The rest are available on a first come first served basis.
