Recreation
Floating, rafting and kayaking the Coeur d'Alene River as well as fly fishing for cutthroat trout are the primary activities. However there are trails to hike, Fern Shadow Falls to view and any photographer would find many worthy subject to shoot. I found this rafting outfitter but am sure there are others.
Wildlife
We saw a moose at Devil's Elbow Campground and they would live here also. This is bear country so proper disposal of your garbage and storage of your food is important. One could expect deer and you could bump into elk as well.

The daily fee for a campsite is $18 for 2014. Your extra vehicle is $9 and day use is also $9.

You may reserve your campsite at recreation.gov. This is a popular campground so I recommend getting your reservations rather than just showing up.
