Almeda Park

πŸ“Œ Oregon πŸ“ 42.605481,-123.581277 β›° 680 ft
Almeda Park under the cover provided by oak, laurel and pine trees is mostly open. The campsites are closer together and offer little privacy however the park offers great access to the Rogue River.

Amenities

Campsites
There are 39 "tent" campsites, 1 groups site for up to 12 people and a yurt. The road entering the park is paved but after that it is all gravel and dirt.
Water
There is a pressurized water system with limited water available. I don't know what "limited" means.
Restroom
Yes there is a vault style outhouse. It was fairly clean and was well stocked with TP.
Electricity
No.
Firewood
Firewood is available for purchase.
Pets
I found nothing related to pets here or online. I would assume you can but should keep them on a leash.
Picnic Area
Yes there are picnic tables near the boat launch parking.
Handicap Access
This is not a handicap friendly park.
RV Dump Site
None.
Host On-Site
Yes, with ice and firewood available.
Garbage Services
Yes.

Recreation

Fishing
Almeda Park offers access to the Rogue River. The Rogur River is widely know for its fantastic steelhead runs.
Boating
There is a boat launch for accessing the Rogur River.
Swimming
I saw people playing in the river but there is no life guard or emegency phone.
Hiking
A few miles downstream where a large concrete bridge crosses the river you will find 2 trailheads. The one on the south side of the river goes about a mile and a half to Rainie Falls. I hiked this trail and will publish a review soon. The trailhead on the north side of the river allows you to hike all the way to the coast some 40 miles downstream. I also hiked this trail for about 3 miles and will publish a review.
Recreation
The primary recreation here is fishing the Rogue River.
Wildlife
I am sure you could see deer in the park often and there would be black bear in the surrounding woods. To avoid problems with bear make sure you put your food away at night and take advantage of the garbage bins.
