Lud Drexler Park - BLM

πŸ“Œ Twin Falls Area πŸ“ 42.211835,-114.730772 β›° 5,060 ft
Lud Drexler Park is a BLM facility on Salmon Falls Creek Reservoir. It offers camping for fishermen and a boat launch to access the reservoir. This is high desert and covered with sagebrush and crested wheat grass. There are mountains with juniper forests nearby but the country at the lake is open.

Amenities

Campsites
There are 20 campsites but these sites are not equal. The first few have a cement pad with a fire ring, picnic table and cabanna covering. Then the next few are being remodeled to match. The last 5 are a bit on the rough side with a picnic table and fire ring which may or may not be in good shape. There is a "News Release" posted stating sites are being remodeled but I am not sure that includes the last 5.
Water
The park has a pressurized water system with hydrants scattered about.
Restroom
There are 2 vault style outhouse toilets.
Electricity
No - Well, there does appear to be power at 2 sites but I believe these are host sites.
Firewood
None available that I could tell. I did see a note that firewood could be bought a the "service center" in Rogerson. You will either pass through or close to Rogerson on your way to the campground. If you try this let us know by posting a comment below!
Pets
I found no information reguarding pets.
Picnic Area
There is no seperate picnic area but for 5 dollars one could use an empty campsite!
Handicap Access
Both of the toilets are handicap accessible and the campsites with the cement pads would also be helpful.
RV Dump Site
Amazingly there is a RV dump station here and there is no additional charge to use it.
Host On-Site
During the summer, yes, I think... We visited in October and they were gone and the water was turned off.
Nearest Shower
No
Garbage Services
Yes, garbage service is available.

Recreation

Fishing
You will find trout, kokanee salmon, yellow perch, black crappie and walleye in the reservoir. I found one referrence to Salmon Falls Creek Reservoir being the place to go in Idaho for Walleye. I'm going to have to try it out!
Boating
There is a nice boat launch facility here. Check out the pictures in the "Recreation" page.
Swimming
One could swim and I am sure many do but there is no "beach" at this location.
Hiking
I didn't find any hiking trails here.
Recreation
Fishing, camping, fishing, Oh and fishing!
Wildlife
We saw several deer grazing across the reservoir and heard coyotes howling in the night.
