Sharp Creek Campground is in the Tonto National Forest near the Mogollon Rim. This area is heavily forested which includes a great deal of underbrush. Over 5 million people visit the Tonto National Forest each year so you are very likely to see a lot of people on the trails and lakes. The campground is set on rolling hills with the creek below. At the time of our visit the campground was closing so the information signs that I would normally have posted had already been removed for the winter. So some information I would normally have will be missing from this review.

The campsites are equipped with a picnic table, fire ring and bbq grill. The roads and driveways are paved with dirt campsites. Even though this area is heavily forested there is plenty of sun to enjoy.

There are vault style outhouses in the campground. They were very clean at the time of our visit.

The roads and driveways are paved plus the outhouses are handicap accessible.

No however there is a RV dump station for $10 at the Houston Mesa Campground near Payson.

Other than camping there are many hiking trails in this area.
Wildlife
Both white-tail and mule deer, elk and Javalina are common in the Tonto National Forest. Rattlesnakes and black bear area also found here.

For 2020 the daily fee for a campsite whether RV or tent was $27. To check the current fee schedule and to reserve your campsite go to Recreation.gov.
